How to play Golf Solitaire

Start Golf Solitaire by looking at the playing area and its controls. Remove all 35 tableau cards. Use the example below to understand a decision. Identify the playing area and the controls you need. Look at what changes after your first action.

Step by step

1. Take an exposed bottom card one rank above or below the waste top, allowing ace–king wrapping.
2. Click an exposed card or eligible pair to remove it.
3. Draw when useful.
4. Undo reverses a choice. New deal shuffles again.

Controls

Click or tap cards and piles. Wide tableaus scroll inside the game; use Undo, Hint and New deal where shown. Read a button’s label before selecting it. Check any mode label before starting.

A useful example

Waste queen accepts jack or king. Your next round may have a different position, so inspect it before acting. Read the matching step again.

Watch out for this

Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy. A different version of the game may use a different rule. Read one step at a time and try it on the playing area. Match the instruction to the control you use.
